About 31 percent of fashion designers work for apparel, piece goods, and notions merchant wholesalers; and 13 percent worked for apparel manufacturers. Fashion is a major industry in several industrialized countries, including Japan, Italy, and France. Fashion plays a significant role in the way people identify themselves and others. It is an important means of self-expression and self-identification. The .FASHION top-level domain will provide an identifiable means of communication between fashion designers manufacturers, vendors, advertisers and ultimately to purchasers of fashionable clothing and accessories. |
